Have you heard of #TeamTrees?
Chances are that you haven’t. #Teamtrees is an organisation who are aiming to plant 20 million trees by the 1st of January 2020… And they need your help to do so. For every dollar you donate to #TeamTeam's Website (Link), they will plant one tree.
This idea was all started by the Youtuber MrBeast, who pledged that he would plant 20 million trees after he passed 20 million subscribers on his channel. In his first video, he along with a fellow Youtuber (and former NASA engineer) Mark Rober as well as 1000’s of fans managed to plant just under 2000. Not the full aim. But, it is a nice first step towards the total.

But, it isn’t just MrBeast and other Youtubers manning the project. They have also paired up with The Arbor Day Foundation, a non-profit conservation and education organisation based in America dedicated to planting trees. They have international projects which branch out across multiple countries such as over 7,000 trees in Brazil, over 285,000 trees collectively in Canada and an astonishing 395,000 trees across the UK
Currently, their total (as of the time that I wrote this) is standing on an impressive 4,458,388 trees donated. This was after donations from numerous people and you could add to this total.
Wouldn’t it be cool to help out?
Every minute 36 football fields’ worth of trees are cut down. Forests cover 30% of the earth’s land. Yet, they are disappearing! We need trees. They don’t just absorb CO2, they also absorb greenhouse gases which are contributing to climate change (Reference).
Trees aren’t the only thing we need to do to combat climate change. But, it is a positive step in the right direction
